What is a Google Ad Grant?
A Google Ad Grant is a program offering eligible nonprofits up to $10,000 per month in free advertising credit on Google Search, enabling them to promote their mission and reach new supporters without spending on ads.
Who is eligible for Google Ad Grants?
Eligible organizations must be registered nonprofits with valid charitable status (such as 501(C)(3) in the U.S.). They need to be enrolled in Google for Nonprofits, have a functional, high-quality website, and agree to Google’s program policies and certifications. Certain groups, like government entities, hospitals, and schools, are not eligible—though their philanthropic arms may qualify.

Our Application for Partnership gives us a head start on the information we’ll need to get started, and determine what you might need to meet Google’s eligibility requirements. Some organizations will be ready to go right away, while some might need additional help before we can begin the process.

$10,000 for Free? What’s the catch?
There isn’t exactly a “catch,” but there are important rules. Google Ad Grants only apply to search ads (not display or video), and campaigns must follow specific requirements—like maintaining a 5% click-through rate, using proper targeting, and having an optimized website. The funds can’t be used for every keyword or ad type, so success depends on thoughtful strategy and ongoing management.
Is there a long term commitment?
